Sören Kah named BMW Frankfurt Marathon’s Goodwill Ambassador
The BMW Frankfurt Marathon and Sören Kah, second fastest German marathon runner of the last years, have entered into an extensive cooperation. “I’m very happy to name Sören who is one of Germany’s most promising runners as ambassador for our event”, says race director Jo Schindler. Kah who has its roots in the town of Fachingen in Rhineland-Palatia and currently lives in Frankfurt celebrated a successful debut during the BMW Frankfurt Marathon two years ago. Hi finished in 2:17:58 then and was able to impressively improve one year later in Frankfurt to 2:13:57.
Schindler: „With his likeable demeanour and personality together with his athletic development make him an ideal fit for our event. Additionally we would like to see this cooperation as a sign of encouragement for German athletes.” In collaboration with our main sponsor ASICS the main goal is to enable Sören to develop his athletic career even further. For now we have agreed to a partnership until the end of 2014. Naturally Sören will compete in the BMW Frankfurt Marathon 2013 and 2014.
„It’s a new and interesting challenge to be ambassador for the oldest German city marathon“, says Kah. “I fell very much at home at the BMW Frankfurt Marathon. That’s why I didn’t hesitate for a second when Jo Schindler offered me this possibility.” Since Sören is recovering from an injury at the moment his attendance at the Rosbacher Main-Lauf-Cup series very much depends on that.
Sören had to undergo knee surgery in February where scar tissue had to be removed. “The problems started last December but now I’m well back into training”, says Kah. His big goal, of course, is to achieve a new personal best at the 32th BMW Frankfurt Marathon on October 27th. In the long run (no pun intended) the European Athletic Championships 2014 play a big role for him as well.
